OK, I'm not going to call p aintball crap or stupid or anything I'm just going to flat out tell everybody why I don't play p aintball. And YES, I HAVE PLAYED P AINTBALL.
First off, the obvious one. I think we can all agree that p aintball is less than realistic. Big, neon-colored eye catchers are not what I want to be seen with when I'm lighting someone up. Also, I have personally never seen any gun with a big ol' C02 tank sticking off of it. Not to mention the "Magazines" (for lack of better word) on top of them. We like to use realistic guns that, sometimes, are perfect, detail-for-detail, replicas. In fact, we even have GBB's (Gas Blow Backs) that rack the slide every time you take a shot.
Secondly, we don't like to have to wash off the targets we are using to adjust our hop-up or target practice every time we use it. I personally hate the idea of getting hit with a big ball (or ricochet splatter) of paint every time someone shoots near me. I like hearing the "tap-tap-tap-tap" off getting hit.
Third on my list is the noise. I like hearing the popping of guns in the distance and the difference in pitch just like real guns. Plus the occasional GBB racking. I dislike being unable to hear where the shots that are hitting right next to me are coming from. It completely takes the strategy out of the game.
Fourth up is price. P aintball in comparison to airsoft is very expensive. A good p aintball gun will run you upwards $2000. A good AIRSOFT gun will run you upwards $500, with good, longevity targeted parts. In the short and long run p aintball costs more. Let me explain. A 2,000 count of Empire p aintballs will cost you $33+shipping. A 10,000 bag of Matrix BB's cost me $30 INCLUDING shipping (Don't believe me? Look it up: Airsoftgi.com.). So, at a fair price of $5 to ship your p aintballs, you spending $38 for 2000 p aintballs. That's about 1.9¢ per p aintball. At $30 for 10,000 BB's, I'm spending 0.3¢ on every BB. You are spending about 6 times on p aintballs then on BB's. BUT WAIT, there's more. Forget about the C02? ONE 9oz. tank of C02 will last a gun around 500 shots for $23 shipped. One 9.6V 1700 MaH battery will last an airsoft gun about 1,800 in a stock M120. To charge the battery mentioned above it would take about 9¢ for a full charge. Therefore, you are spending 1.2¢ per shot for p aintball, and an airsofter is spending .005¢ per shot. Ouch. You are spending 240 TIMES as much as an airsoft gun would use.
Well, I may add to this at a later date because it's 1:16 A.M. right now, but for now, that's all I had to say. That is the real reasons I don't play p aintball.
